Gokyo Ri Everest Base Camp Trek

Day to Day Itinerary

• Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu.

  Warm welcome, Airport pick up / transfer to your hotel / welcome and tour briefing.

• Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

  Sightseeing including many of the UNESCO listed, historical sites in the Kathmandu Valley

• Day 03 : Fly to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding. Overnight Phakding (2640m)

  Fly to Lukla good views/ From Lukla / trail climbs to Ghat (2590) and on to Phadking. In Phakding at the top of the gompa there are some fine views of the mountains /overnight Phakding.

• Day 04 : Phakding (2640m) to Namche Bazaar (3420m)

  Start trek after breakfast / good views of Thamserku peak on the way / trail climbs to Chomoa / an agricultural project / interesting place / gain an insight into the farming way of life of the people / from Chomoa trail again climbs to Monjo (2840m) / enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park (1148sq km, established in 1976) / continue some distance up hill to reach Jorsale (2830m) / long climb with views of Mt. Everest peeking over the ridge of Nuptse (7879m) / trail reaches Namche Bazaar / overnight

• Day 05 : Namche Bazaar – rest day for acclimatization , visit Buddhist monastery, museum and or short hiking.

  Rest day / side treks / hike to the Everest View Hotel / ideal place to overview Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse etc.

• Day 06 : Namche Bazaar to Dole(4040 m).

  Today we walk from Namche to Dole / overnight

• Day 07 : Dole to Machhermo (4410m)

  From Dole / trail climbs through a huge rock at Lhabarma (4330m) / carries on to Luza (4340m).From Luza the trail continues to climb to Machhermo (4410m) / good views of the mountains / overnight

• Day 08 : Machhermo – Gokyo (4750m, 5 hrs)

  Today pass through Machhermo / trail climbs and reaches Pangka (4390m) / Beyond Pangka the trail drops and again climbs steeply / from there you can see the massive Ngozmpa Glacier / finally arrive at Gokyo / overnight

• Day 09 : Gokyo – visit Gokyo Ri (5340m), walk down Nala.(4440 m)

  Take a look around Gokyo valley / best view you have to climb Gokyo RI (5357m) / also called Kala Patthar but not the Kala Patthar above Gorakshep / panoramic views of Cho Oyu (8201m), Gyachung Kang (7922m), Everest, Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (4063m), Cholaste and Tawachee. Walk down to Nala / overnight Stay in Nala.

• Day 10 : Nala to Cho-La Pass (5,420m) and to Dzongla

  After breakfast walk from Nala to Cho La Pass and walk up to Dzongla The views of Ama Dablam and Taweche are spectacular. Overnight Stay in Dzongla .

• Day 11 : Dzongla to Lobuche (5018 m)

  After a rough trail reach site at Lobuche / windswept collection of huts tucked in a narrow meadow between the glacier and the Lobuche Peak (6119m). The Lhotse ridge is simply awesome from this angle / overnight

• Day 12 : Lubuche-Everest Base Camp – Gorak Shep(5140m)

  The trail continues to climb to Gorak Shep / trek leads finally to the Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft) / rocky and glacial trails where climbers gather for summiting Everest / back to Gorakh Shep. overnight

• Day 13 : Gorak Shep-Kalapaththar (5545m) – Lubuche

  Early morning walk up to the famous viewing point of Kalapaththar (Black Rock 5,545 m)small peak offers best views of Mt. Everest, Pumori, Ama Dablam and many more you can get without climbing / Continue trek / return to Lobuche (4930m/12894ft) overnight.

• Day 14 : Lobuche to Tengboche ( 3850 m)

  Continue trek down to Tengboche / overnight

• Day 15 : Tengboche to Monju (2850m)

  We return back to Namche Bazaar / overnight in Monjo

• Day 16 : Monju to Lukla

  Numerous ascents and descents through the forest / rocky cliffs and sheer drops overlooking the river / finally reach Lukla / overnight

• Day 17 : Lukla to Kathmandu

  Fly back to Kathmandu / transfer to hotel / afternoon free

• Day 18 : Transfer to airport /flight to onward destination with beautiful memory
