Introduction

The Nubra Valley lies to the north of Ley and was once the gateway to the ancient Silk route. The valley has vast alluvial plains and bacterian camels, which roam the sandy banks of the Shayok River. The geopolitical evolution tended to transform the Nubra valley into a unique bubbly place opened to foreigners only since 1995. Lying approximately 400m lower than Leh, Nubra sports a much milder climate, which enables its inhabitants to cultivate more extensively, as compared to their counterparts in the main Indus valley.

This trip consist the trips of Leh, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. Ladakh is also known as ‘Little Tibet’.  Nubra valley has served as an important transit point for caravans travelling to Central Asia, China and Tibet. The valley is famous for its forest of Hippophae shrub, popularly known as Leh Berry. The main road access to the Nubra Valley is over Khardung La pass which is open throughout the year. It has gain the  status as the highest motorable road in the world.

Day to Day Itinerary

  • Day 01: Fly from Delhi to Leh (3,520 m) approx.,1 hour

    Arrival at the Leh Airport / transfer to the hotel / stroll around Leh Market and Shanti Stupa
  • Day 02: Leh to Lamayuru to Uletokpo approx., 4/5 hours

    Drive to Lamayuru and en route visit Liker Monastery and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib / Check in camp at Uletekpo / drive to visit the mesmerizing Moon landscapes and the Lamayuru monastery (oldest monastery in Ladakh)
  • Day 03: Uletokpo to Leh approx., 2/3 hours

    Today we visit Alchi, Likir Monastery, and Magnetic Hill / also visit to Leh Palace
  • Day 04: Leh to Pangong Lake (4,420 m) approx., 4/5 hours

    Drive to Pangong Lake via through Changla Pass (5289 m) / the views reflected on the lake are simply mesmerizing / the color of the lake keeps changing throughout the day.
  • Day 05: Pangong Lake to Leh, approx., 4/5 hours

    Today we visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace
  • Day 06: Leh to Nubra Valley (5,578 m), approx., 4/5 hours

    Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (5603 m), highest drivable road in the world / arrive and explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village
  • Day 07: Nubra Valley to Leh approx., 4/5 hours

    Visit to Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh / visit Hemis Monastery
  • Day 08: Leh to Delhi

    Drop off to the airport for flight to Delhi with beautiful memory back home
